Context: two young people engaged in a drumming activity

  1. Observation: Think about what you see and hear in the video.
  2. Interpretation: What can you reasonably infer about the person's musical engagement?
  3. Assessment: Suggest a Sounds of Intent Level and Domain.

One boy plays a simple rhythmic motif in the expectation that it will be copied. The other boy copies the motif. This activity can be classified as Level 4, Interactive (I.4): ‘engages in musical dialogues using motifs’.
